Ancient Persia (what is modern day Iran) was the region where this religion prospered. Then the Muslims started their Jihad and began converting people by force, a group of Zoroastrians took their holy fire and families and hopped onto a boat. After many days they landed in what is now the state of Gujrat in the west of India.
The Magi with the boat sent a message to the local Hindu king that they requested asylum. The Persians were a war like race and the Kind was worried for his throne. SO he refused asylum stating the land was full like a cup of milk and adding any more would make it spill over. In response to this the Magi said, that no matter how full a glass of milk, you can always add a spoon of sugar to it and sweeten it.
So the Persians were given an area to settle down at Navsari and they were also asked to promise not to usurp the King’s authority or try and make converts to their own religion. In keeping with that promise, to date the Parsis or those from Persia, conducted all religious ceremonies at night and never converted a single Hindu to their religion.
